03.10.2013 Day of German Unity

It suited us very well, that the national holiday coincided with out introductionary phase in Remscheid. Having an extra free day gave us opportunity to settle better into our new apartment, unpacking our suitcases and to assemble our two ikea lockers.
This was our first night in Remscheid and we woke up to a freezing cold apartment. Who would have guessed we would need the wool socks in October? After most of our work was done we went to a mid morning walk getting to know the area.
We live very near the Stadtpark, a public recreational area, only about 400 m away. However these 400 m are steep upwards.

We quickly found the local playground there and let the girls enjoy running around. The playground is situated between old oaks, which were glowing in the late autumn sun. Absolutely gorgeous. We picked up some acorns, chestnuts and pretty leaves on our way. After our day nap time, we followed the same path and spent some more time on the playground. There was plenty of families enjoying this beautiful afternoon outside with us.
